Qualification of SAMWISE power system hardware/software stack for flight

Overview

The Integrated Power System Testbed (IPST) is designed to fully test the SAMWISE power system, including simulating expected loads and solar power input to confirm the PyCubed, MPPT, battery, and exterior panel hardware and software perform as expected. This testbed is expected to operate up until launch.

Requirements

• Simulate power draw of payload including:
  • S-band radio operation
  • Camera operation
  • Startracker operation
• Simulate power draw of ADCS including:
  • Magnetorquer operation
  • Reaction wheel operation
  • Combined operation
  • Sun sensors
• Simulate input power of solar panels for complete orbit under:
  • Full control
  • Tumbling
